Proofreading

Have you had a copyedit already? Is your manuscript ready to be formatted? Is it nearly publication ready?

Not so fast! One last check before publication can save you a lot of grief later. A proofread is much faster and less involved than a copyedit but involves the same elements. A proofread is typically done by an editor that has not yet worked on the manuscript—a fresh set of eyes can catch something other editors missed.

You will receive

  • 1 pass of the entire manuscript
  • In-line edits in Word’s Track Changes feature (you can accept or reject these changes in the document) OR comments in your formatted PDF document
  • If necessary, queries embedded in the document with questions, suggestions, and comments
  • By request, a style sheet that details mechanical and stylistic decisions.
